    Westerhall Estate Ltd, located in the lush landscapes of Becke Moui, Grenada, is a testament to the island's rich rum-making heritage. Established in the late 1700s, the estate offers a unique glimpse into the history and traditions of rum production in the Caribbean.Originally a sugar cane plantation, Westerhall Estate was purchased by Sir William Johnstone in the late 18th century and named after his ancestral home in Scotland. The estate once spanned 951 acres, cultivating sugar cane, cocoa, and limes. In 1862, sugar cane processing machinery was installed, much of which remains on-site today, albeit in ruins. The Williams/Wells family has owned the remaining 40 acres of the plantation since 1965.Visitors can embark on guided tours that showcase the meticulous craftsmanship involved in creating Westerhall's signature rums. The tour includes the rum-making process, from the fermentation of sugarcane to the aging process in oak barrels. Guests are invited to indulge in tastings of the estate's award-winning rums, each with unique flavors that reflect the essence of Grenada. The estate also features a small museum with Carib pottery relics and early colonial artifacts. Westerhall Estate produces a range of rums, each with its own distinct character.
