Getting There

    From St. George's, take a bus heading towards The Lime. Inform the driver you wish to go to Quarantine Point. The bus fare ranges from EC$2.50 to EC$6.50. Once in The Lime, walk towards the coastline to find Quarantine Point.

  • Car

    From the center of St. David, head southeast on Main Street towards The Lime. Continue until you reach the intersection with the road to Quarantine Point and follow the signs. Ample parking is available at the site. Car rentals range from US$50 to US$75 per day.

  • Walking

    From Westerhall Rum Distillery, head east on the main road (A1) towards the coast. At the fork in the road, keep left towards the coastline and walk along the road with the sea view on your right. After 15 minutes, a small path leads to the beach near a sign for Quarantine Point.

Quarantine Point, located in The Lime, Grenada, is a captivating destination with a rich history and stunning natural beauty. Originally known as Goat Point or Long Point, this peninsula was transformed in 1892 into a quarantine station to isolate those suffering from diseases like smallpox and yellow fever. The isolated location on the southwest coast of Grenada made it an ideal spot for this purpose. As the 20th century progressed and these diseases were largely eradicated, Quarantine Point transitioned into a recreational area. Some of the buildings were repurposed, including use as a government rest house. During World War I, it even housed the Grenadian detachment of the British West Indies Regiment. Later, during Grenada's revolution, it served as a military camp. Today, Quarantine Point is a popular spot for picnics and leisurely strolls, offering panoramic views of the capital city and the coastline. The grassy area is surrounded by water on three sides, providing a refreshing sea breeze and a tranquil atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy the well-maintained pathways, capture stunning photographs, and relax in this peaceful retreat. It's open from 6 AM to 9 PM daily.
