Founded in 2015 by Guatemalans Daniel Terzuola and Roberto Arzu, the park was initially envisioned as a small ecological village for friends. It has since blossomed into a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Located in Vuelta Grande, a 20-minute drive from Antigua, Hobbitenango sits at 7,800 feet (2,400 m) above sea level, providing breathtaking views of the Panchoy Valley and surrounding volcanoes. The park features hobbit-style houses, restaurants, and various attractions designed to inspire joy and wonder. Visitors can explore over 26 areas within the park, including the famous hand statue, participate in activities like archery and mini-golf, or simply relax and soak in the stunning scenery.     Getting There

    Shuttle

    The most convenient and affordable way to reach Hobbitenango from Antigua is by taking the official Hobbitenango shuttle. The shuttle departs from the Hobbitenango office in Antigua, located at 3a Avenida Norte #20A. The roundtrip fare is Q45 per person. Shuttles leave Antigua at 8:00 am, 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 4:00 pm, returning from Hobbitenango at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm, and 5:00 pm. Book in advance and arrive 15 minutes early to secure your spot. Upon arrival at the Hobbitenango parking area, a 4x4 shuttle, included in your entrance fee, will transport you up the steep road to the park entrance.

    Taxi/Uber

    Taxis and Ubers are available in Antigua and can take you to the Hobbitenango parking area. A taxi ride typically costs Q60-Q70. Uber fares can be around Q35. However, be aware that finding a return Uber can be difficult. From the parking area, a 4x4 shuttle, included in your entrance fee, will transport you up the steep road to the park entrance. Negotiate the return fare with the taxi driver in advance or arrange a specific pick-up time.
