Getting there

Walking

Start at the central park in Antigua Guatemala (Parque Central). From the park, head northwest on 5a Avenida Norte. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 6a Calle Poniente. Turn left onto 6a Calle Poniente and continue until you reach the main road (Carretera a Ciudad Vieja). This walk will take about 15-20 minutes. Once you reach the main road, you will see a bus stop. Here, you can catch a 'colectivo' (shared minibus) heading towards Ciudad Vieja or El Hato.

Colectivo

At the bus stop, look for a colectivo that has 'El Hato' or 'Hobbitenango' written on it. The fare is usually around 5-10 quetzales. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Hobbitenango. The colectivo will drop you off at a junction where you can see signs pointing towards Hobbitenango.

Walking

From the drop-off point, follow the signs towards Hobbitenango. The path will be uphill; it's about a 20-30 minute walk. You will pass through a rural area with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. Keep following the well-marked trail until you reach the entrance to Hobbitenango.
