From the center of Aldea San José El Rodeo, the most common way to begin your ascent to Pacaya Volcano is on foot. The trail from the village is well-traveled. Follow the path leading out of the village towards the Pacaya Volcano visitor center. The walk to the visitor center takes approximately 30 minutes, offering views of the surrounding farmlands. Entrance fee to the Pacaya National Park is approximately Q100.
