Car
If you're driving from Flores, head west on Route 9 towards Santa Elena. Continue on this route for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the town of San Andrés. At San Andrés, turn left onto the road towards Ixkun. Follow the signs for another 10 kilometers, and you will arrive at the archaeological site of Ixkun. Be aware that the road may be unpaved in sections, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended.
Public Transportation
To reach Ixkun by public transport, first take a bus from Flores to Santa Elena, which costs around 10-15 Quetzales (Q). The bus departs regularly from the main terminal. Once in Santa Elena, you can catch a shuttle or a minibus heading towards San Andrés. The shuttle ride will cost approximately Q20-30. After reaching San Andrés, you may need to hire a local taxi or find a shared ride to cover the last 10 kilometers to Ixkun, which should cost around Q50-60.
