Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from Flores, Peten. Head southeast on Calle Principal towards the CA-9 highway. Follow CA-9 for approximately 50 kilometers until you see the signs for Reserva de Biosfera Maya. Turn left onto the unpaved road that leads into the reserve. Be aware that this road may not be well-marked, so keep an eye out for local signs or landmarks. There may be a small entrance fee for vehicles, typically around 50 quetzals.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    From Flores, you can take a bus to Santa Elena. Buses leave frequently from the main bus terminal. The fare is usually around 10 quetzals. Once in Santa Elena, look for buses or shuttle services that go to the Reserva de Biosfera Maya.
