Getting There

  • Car

    If driving from Panajachel, take the CA-1 highway east towards Solola. Continue on CA-1 to Chimaltenango, then take the CA-9 highway towards Guatemala City, turning off towards San Martín Jilotepeque. Follow the road signs to Chelemhá. After approximately 30 km, you will find signs for Reserva Chelemhá. Note that a 4x4 vehicle is recommended, especially after turning off the paved road. There is no entry fee.

  • Public Transport

    To reach Reserva Chelemhá by public transport, first take a bus from Panajachel to Chimaltenango (approximately 20 GTQ). Transfer to a bus heading towards San Martín Jilotepeque and ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to Chelemhá. From there, hire a local taxi for around 50-100 GTQ, depending on the distance.
