If you're traveling by car, start from any point in the Western Highlands and head towards Antigua Guatemala. Use the main roads, such as CA-1 or CA-9, to reach this historic city. Once in Antigua, navigate to H73C+H7C, 7a Calle Oriente, which is where San Francisco the Great Sanctuary is located. Be aware of parking availability in the area; there are some public parking lots nearby, but they may charge a fee of approximately Q20-30 per hour.

If you prefer public transportation, take a 'chicken bus' (local bus) from your starting point in the Western Highlands to Antigua Guatemala. The fare is usually around Q10-20 depending on the distance. Upon arriving in Antigua, you can either walk to San Francisco the Great Sanctuary or take a tuk-tuk for a short ride, which should cost around Q10-15. The sanctuary is located at H73C+H7C, 7a Calle Oriente, and is a short distance from the main bus terminal.

Once you are in Antigua, if you choose to walk, head east on 7a Calle Norte and then take a right on 7a Calle Oriente. Continue straight until you reach the sanctuary. Walking allows you to enjoy the beautiful colonial architecture of Antigua along the way. The walking distance from the main plaza to the sanctuary is about 15 minutes.
