Walking
If you are in the Matam neighborhood, you can reach Grande Mosquée de Matam by walking. Start at the main market in Matam (Marché de Matam), located about 1 kilometer from the mosque. From the market, head northwest on Rue de Matam. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue de la République. Turn left onto Avenue de la République and continue for about 200 meters. You will see the mosque on your right at H923+P47. It’s a prominent structure, making it easy to spot.
Bicycle
If you prefer a quicker option, you can rent a bicycle from local shops in Matam. Start at the central square (Place de la République) and head east on Avenue de la République. Follow this road for about 1.2 kilometers. After passing the local school on your left, the Grande Mosquée de Matam will be on your left at H923+P47. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic rules.
Public Transport (Shared Taxi)
You can take a shared taxi (also known as 'taxi collectif') to get closer to the mosque. Head to the nearest taxi stop, usually located near the main market. Board a taxi heading towards the direction of H923+P47. The fare is typically around 2,000 GNF (Guinean Francs). Inform the driver you want to stop at Grande Mosquée de Matam. Once you arrive, it’s just a short walk to the mosque entrance.
