If you're in the heart of Matam, head towards the main road, Avenue du Colonel Aboubacar Sidiki Diakité. Walk straight for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the intersection with Rue de la République. Turn left onto Rue de la République and continue walking for another 5 minutes. You will see signs directing you to Jardins du 2 Octobre. The entrance is located just off the main road.
Bicycle
For a quicker route, consider renting a bicycle from a local shop in Matam. Head to Avenue du Colonel Aboubacar Sidiki Diakité and cycle straight for approximately 10 minutes. When you reach the intersection with Rue de la République, turn left and continue cycling for another 5 minutes. Follow the signs to Jardins du 2 Octobre. Be mindful of traffic and always wear a helmet.
Public Transport (Mini-Bus)
Look for a local mini-bus (often called 'taxi') that heads towards Kaloum. Board the bus at any of the main stops in Matam. The fare is usually around 2,000 GNF. Inform the driver you want to go to Jardins du 2 Octobre. After about 15-20 minutes, get off at the nearest stop to Kaloum and walk a short distance of about 5 minutes to the gardens. Look for signs as you approach the entrance.
