Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the Bartica Market located in the center of Bartica. From the market, head east on the main road (the only main road). Continue walking for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the intersection with the Bartica Police Station on your right. Turn left at this intersection and continue straight until you reach the end of this road. You will see the Demerara River on your left. Keep walking along the riverfront and enjoy the view. After approximately 5 minutes, you will come to the end of the riverfront walkway; here, you will see signs indicating the direction to Georgetown. You will need to take a boat from Bartica to Georgetown to reach Promenade Gardens as it is located there.

• Boat

  To reach Promenade Gardens, you will need to find a boat service to Georgetown. After your walk along the riverfront, look for the boat landing area, which is usually bustling with activity. You can ask locals for the nearest boat service to Georgetown. Ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand. The boat ride will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on the water conditions. Once you arrive in Georgetown, disembark at the main dock.

• Walking

  After arriving at the dock in Georgetown, exit the boat and head towards the main road. From the dock, turn left and walk along the road (Water Street) for about 5-10 minutes. You will come to the junction where you can see the Stabroek Market. Continue walking straight onto Middle Street. Promenade Gardens is located at 91 Middle Street, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the market. You will find the entrance to Promenade Gardens on your right side.
