To reach Essequibo Islands- West Demerara by car from Demerara-Mahaica, start by heading west on the East Bank Demerara road. Continue driving until you reach the junction at the West Coast Demerara road. Turn onto the West Coast Demerara road (also known as the main road). Drive for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic conditions, until you reach the village of Vreed-en-Hoop.
