From Côtes-de-Fer, take Route Nationale #2 heading east. Continue on this road for approximately 16 kilometers, passing through the small towns and scenic landscapes. You will see signs for La Vallée-de-Jacmel. When you reach the intersection with the main road leading into La Vallée-de-Jacmel, turn left onto Route 78GF+X59. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers until you arrive at the Grotte Roman location, which will be on your right. Make sure to park safely along the road as designated parking might not be available.
Public Transportation
Start by catching a local tap-tap (shared taxi) from Côtes-de-Fer to La Vallée-de-Jacmel. The fare is typically around 50 HTG (Haitian Gourde) per person. The ride takes approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in La Vallée-de-Jacmel, you can either walk or hire a motorcycle taxi (moto) to take you to the Grotte Roman. The moto fare should be around 100 HTG, and it is about a 10-minute ride from the town center to Grotte Roman. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting the ride.
