Getting There

  • Walking

    From the central area of Hinche, start at the main market (Marché de Hinche). Head south on Rue de la Réserve for about 300 meters until you reach the intersection with Rue de la Liberté. Turn left onto Rue de la Liberté and continue for another 200 meters. You will encounter a small park on your right. Continue straight until you reach the main road, Route Nationale #3. Cross the road carefully and continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the sign for Maria Lapa. Turn right and walk for about 500 meters until you reach the entrance to Bassin Zim.

  • Motorbike Taxi (Tap Tap)

    Find a tap tap (shared motorbike taxi) at the main market (Marché de Hinche). Ask the driver to take you to Maria Lapa. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Maria Lapa, ask the driver to drop you off near the entrance to Bassin Zim, which is marked by a sign. From where you are dropped off, walk about 100 meters to the entrance.
