Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Hinche, head south on Rue de la République towards Rue de la Liberté. Continue straight until you reach the main roundabout. Take the second exit onto Route Nationale #1 (RN1). Follow this road for about 5 kilometers until you reach a small fork. At the fork, take the right path which leads to Route Marchand Dessalines. Keep walking for another 3 kilometers; you will start to notice signs indicating the direction to Saint-Michel-de-l'Atalaye. Continue straight on Route Marchand Dessalines for approximately 1 kilometer until you see a sign for La Source on your left. The approximate distance from the center of Hinche to La Source is about 9 kilometers, so be prepared for a lengthy walk.

• Bicycle

  If you're comfortable cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Hinche. Start at the central square and head south on Rue de la République towards Rue de la Liberté. Once you reach the roundabout, take the second exit onto Route Nationale #1 (RN1). Continue cycling for about 5 kilometers. When you reach the fork, take the right path onto Route Marchand Dessalines. Continue for another 3 kilometers until you see signs for Saint-Michel-de-l'Atalaye. After about 1 kilometer on Route Marchand Dessalines, look for the sign for La Source on your left. The total distance is approximately 9 kilometers, which should take around 30-40 minutes depending on your pace.

• Motorbike Taxi

  Find a motorbike taxi (known locally as 'moto-taxi') in the central area of Hinche. Tell the driver you want to go to La Source near Saint-Michel-de-l'Atalaye. The driver will take you along Route Nationale #1 (RN1) towards the fork. You should keep your eyes peeled for the right path leading to Route Marchand Dessalines. The ride should take around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic, and the fare should be negotiated beforehand.
