Walking
Start from the central area of Port-au-Prince, such as the Place des Martyrs. Head towards the Boulevard Jean-Jacques Dessalines and walk towards the direction of the National Palace. Continue straight until you reach Avenue John Brown. Turn left onto Avenue John Brown and walk until you see the bus station (Station de Tap-Tap) on your right. Here, you can take a Tap-Tap (shared taxi) heading to Pétion-Ville, which is a suburb of Port-au-Prince.

Once you are in Pétion-Ville, ask the driver to drop you off at the intersection of Route de Frères. From there, you will see signs for Fort Jacques. Walk along Route de Frères heading towards Fort Jacques. It's a scenic route with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Continue for about 30-40 minutes until you reach the entrance to the fort. Be sure to stay on the main path and follow any signs directing you to the fort.

Upon reaching the entrance of Fort Jacques, you will need to pay a small entrance fee if required. From the entrance, follow the marked trail leading up to the fort. The hike may take around 20-30 minutes, so wear comfortable shoes and carry water. Enjoy the panoramic views of the area as you make your way up. Once you reach Fort Jacques, take time to explore the historical site and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
