Car
If you are driving from the center of Mosquito Coast, head southeast on the main road towards La Ceiba. Continue on this road for approximately 40 km until you reach the junction for the ferry terminal. Follow the signs to the ferry terminal to take a boat to Roatan Island. The ferry ride will cost around $30 per person and takes about 1 hour. Upon arrival in Roatan, you will want to rent a car or take a taxi. Drive west along the main road for about 12 km until you reach West Bay Beach. Look for signs indicating West Bay, and you will find ample parking available near the beach.
Public Transportation
From central Mosquito Coast, you can take a local bus to La Ceiba, which costs about $5 and takes around 1 hour. Once in La Ceiba, head to the ferry terminal (you can take a short taxi ride for about $3 if needed). Purchase your ferry ticket to Roatan Island for approximately $30. After arriving in Roatan, take a local bus or taxi from the ferry terminal to West Bay Beach. The taxi will cost around $15, while the bus is cheaper at approximately $2 but may take longer as it makes multiple stops. The drive to West Bay takes about 30 minutes.
