If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest town, La Ceiba. Take the CA-13 highway towards Tocoa. After about 60 km, turn onto the CA-9 towards Sonaguera. Continue for approximately 50 km, then take the road towards Crautara. Follow the signs for Cordillera Wimpí. The route is mostly paved but expect some unpaved sections as you get closer to the reserve. Make sure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain.

To reach Cordillera Wimpí via public transport, first take a bus from La Ceiba to Tocoa. This trip will cost around 100 Lempiras and takes approximately 2 hours. In Tocoa, transfer to a bus heading towards Crautara. The fare for this leg is about 50 Lempiras and will take around 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Crautara, you may need to hire a local taxi or guide to reach Cordillera Wimpí, as public transport does not travel directly to the park. Expect to pay around 200 Lempiras for the taxi.
