After approximately 20 minutes, you will reach the shores of Lake Balaton. Look for parking areas near the beach, as there are many public parking lots available. Once parked, follow the signs to the lakeshore where you can enjoy the beautiful views and various attractions along the water.
Public Transportation
To reach Lake Balaton by public transport, take a train from Budapest to Balatonfüred. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at Balatonfüred train station, exit and walk towards the main road (Kossuth Lajos utca). Turn right and walk straight until you reach the lakeshore. You can also take local buses that run frequently to major points along the lake, including Tihany and Siófok, which are popular spots along the shoreline.
