Getting There

• Bus

  From Nyíregyháza, head to the Nyíregyháza Bus Station (Autóbusz-állomás), which is located at Kossuth tér. You can walk there from central Nyíregyháza, just follow Kossuth utca until you reach the square. Once at the bus station, look for a bus going to Tokaj. Buses to Tokaj are frequent, but it's best to check the schedule at the station. The journey takes about 40 minutes. Upon arrival in Tokaj, you will be dropped off near the town center.

• Train

  First, make your way to the Nyíregyháza Train Station (Nyíregyháza Vasútállomás), located on the western outskirts of the city. You can walk there from the city center, heading towards the western side along Széchenyi utca. Once at the train station, purchase a ticket for a train heading to Tokaj. Make sure to check the train schedule upon arrival. The train ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Tokaj Train Station, it’s a short walk to the center of the town.

• Walking

  If you are feeling adventurous, you can walk to Tokaj, though it's quite a distance (approximately 30 kilometers). Start at the center of Nyíregyháza and head south via the main roads. Follow the signs for Tokaj. The walk will take several hours, so ensure you are prepared with water and snacks. It's recommended to start early in the day.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Nyíregyháza. Head to a local bike rental shop in the city center. After securing a bike, follow the main roads heading south towards Tokaj. The route is relatively straightforward, taking you through some scenic countryside. The cycling distance is around 30 kilometers and will take about 2-3 hours depending on your speed.
