Getting there

Public Transport

If you are near Deák Ferenc tér, take Metro Line 3 (Blue Line) towards Kőbánya-Kispest. Get off at the stop 'Kálvin Tér' and transfer to Tram Line 47 or 49. Ride the tram to 'Móricz Zsigmond körtér'. From there, you can take Bus 27 towards 'Kelenföld vasútállomás' and get off at the stop 'Gellért Hotel'. Walk uphill on the path towards Gellért Hill for about 15 minutes until you reach the Citadella.

Walking

From the popular tourist area around the Danube River, walk towards the Liberty Bridge (Szabadság híd). Cross the bridge, and once you reach the Buda side, head straight up the hill towards Gellért Hill. Follow the pathway leading up the hill; it will take approximately 20-30 minutes to reach the top where the Citadella is located, offering stunning views of the city.

Taxi

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hail a taxi or use a ride-hailing app. Simply input 'Gellért Hill' or 'Citadella' as your destination. The driver will take you directly to the entrance. The ride should take around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.
