    If you are near the city center, start by taking Metro Line 4 (the green line) from stations like Deák Ferenc tér or Ferenciek tere. Ride towards Kelenföld vasútállomás. Get off at the last stop, Kelenföld. From there, transfer to tram 19 in the direction of the City Hall. Get off at the Gellért Hill stop (Gellért-hegy). After exiting the tram, walk up the path leading to Gellért Hill, following signs for the Citadella.

  • Walking

    If you are already in the vicinity of Gellért Square or the Gellért Baths, you can walk directly to Gellért Hill. From the Gellért Baths, head southwest towards the hill. Follow the path that leads up the hill. The walk is steep but offers beautiful views as you ascend. Look for the paths marked with signs leading to the Citadella.

  • Bus

    From the city center, you can take bus number 27 from Széll Kálmán tér, traveling towards the Citadella. Get off at the Citadella stop. Once you disembark, follow the signs that direct you to the lookout point and the fortress at the top of Gellért Hill.

  • Funicular

    Although there is no direct funicular to Gellért Hill, you can take the funicular from the Buda Castle area to the top of Castle Hill. Once at the top, you can enjoy the views and then walk down towards the Gellért Hill area, which is about a 20-minute walk away. Follow the paths that lead down towards the river and then head towards Gellért Hill.
