If you are near the city center, take Tram Line 2 from either the Jászai Mari Square or the Kossuth Lajos Square stops. Ride the tram heading towards the Közvágóhíd for about 15 minutes. Get off at the Szent Gellért tér stop. From here, walk towards the Danube River and cross the Chain Bridge to reach the Buda side. Follow the signs to Szent György tér, and the Hungarian National Gallery will be on your right.

Take Metro Line 2 (the red line) from any central station like Deák Ferenc tér towards Déli Pályaudvar. Get off at the Déli Pályaudvar station. From there, exit and catch Bus 16 or Bus 16A. Ride the bus for about 5-10 minutes and get off at the Szent György tér stop. The Hungarian National Gallery will be directly in front of you.
