From Deák Ferenc tér (the central square in Budapest), take Metro Line 2 (the red line) towards Déli Pályaudvar. After 4 stops, get off at Déli Pályaudvar. From there, exit the metro station and look for the bus stop for bus number 21. Board the bus heading towards János-hegy. Stay on the bus for approximately 10 minutes and get off at the János-hegy stop. Follow the signs to the hiking trails leading to the peak.

If you are staying nearby in District XII, you can walk to János-hegy. Head towards the Buda hills by following the signs to the hiking trails from your location. It's approximately a 30-40 minute walk uphill, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for some elevation.
