From the Inner City, you can take Metro Line 1 (the yellow line) from the Deák Ferenc tér station. Board the train towards the Mexikói út direction. Travel for 5 stops until you reach the Hősök tere station. Upon exiting the metro, you will find yourself directly at Heroes' Square. Note that a single ticket costs 350 HUF (approximately 1.10 EUR).

Another option is to take Tram 1 from the Inner City. You can board the tram at any stop along the route towards the Közvágóhíd direction.
