History and Heritage

Founded in 2000 by Váli Péter in Badacsonyörs, VáliBor began as a dream to pair homegrown wines with fresh, market-sourced ingredients on his own estate. Over two decades, it evolved through family dedication into a 10-hectare organic operation, certified by Biokontroll Hungária Kft. The winery reflects a passion for organic viticulture in the unique microclimate of Balaton highlands, where volcanic soils yield distinctive flavors.

Vineyards and Winemaking

VáliBor's vineyards thrive organically, focusing on key Badacsony grapes like Kéknyelű, whose 2019 Ágyús dűlő vintage earned gold at the National Organic Wine Competition. Wines are reductive or barrel-aged with minimal sulphur, bottled directly for purity. Varieties include Pinot Noir, Syrah, Kékfrankos, and sparkling Badacsonyi Gyöngy, all showcasing the region's minerality and freshness. Guests taste these alongside local cheeses, hams, salamis, and homemade cakes.

Tastings and Gastronomy

Wine tastings feature curated packages with estate dishes: oven-baked specialties, fresh salads, and desserts. The vinotéka offers discounts during opening hours, ideal for purchases like the James Suckling 92-point Tabula Rasa or Vince Gála Nagydíj winner Syrah. The family atmosphere pairs perfectly with Balaton views, creating relaxed sessions amid vines.

Accommodation and Events

Up to 24 guests stay in guesthouse rooms and apartments, including the central Badacsonytomaj Vinotéka Apartment near basalt formations. Spaces suit events, blending wine culture with lakeside serenity. Proximity to attractions like Folly Arboretum enhances extended visits.
