Car

If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Gyöngyös, which is the nearest town. Drive towards the Mátra Mountains, following signs for Mátrafüred. From the center of Gyöngyös, take Route 24 towards Mátrafüred. After approximately 10 kilometers, turn onto Kossuth Lajos út and continue straight until you reach the Rákóczi-forrás parking area. There is no entrance fee for parking.

Public Transportation

To reach Rákóczi-forrás by public transport, take a train from Budapest to Gyöngyös. The train ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. From Gyöngyös train station, take bus number 12 towards Mátrafüred. The bus ride is approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to Rákóczi-forrás. Ensure to check the local bus schedule as services may vary, particularly on weekends. A one-way bus ticket costs around 500 HUF.

Walking

If you prefer to walk from the nearest bus stop, after getting off the bus, head down the road towards the nature preserve. Follow the signs that direct you towards Rákóczi-forrás.
