From the center of Salgótarján, head northeast on Fő tér towards Kossuth Lajos utca. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rákóczi út. Turn left onto Rákóczi út and walk until you reach the bus stop at Rákóczi út / Munkás út. Take bus number 12 towards 'Kisújszállás' and get off at the 'Salgói vár' bus stop. From there, follow the marked trail leading up to Salgói vár.

Start at the Salgótarján railway station. Take bus number 12 from the station towards 'Kisújszállás'. After about 15 minutes, disembark at the 'Salgói vár' bus stop, which is the closest stop to the fortress. From the bus stop, follow the clearly marked hiking path up to Salgói vár, which should take approximately 20 minutes on foot.
