Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town center of Kaposvár. Head east on Rákóczi Ferenc utca toward Széchenyi utca. Continue onto Route 61. Follow Route 61 until you reach Nagybakónak. Once in Nagybakónak, follow local signs to Kőszikla Szurdok. The total driving distance is approximately 20 km and takes around 30 minutes. There is no parking fee at the site.
Public Transportation
To reach Kőszikla Szurdok via public transportation, start by taking a train from Kaposvár to Nagybakónak. Check the local train schedules as they may vary. Upon arriving at Nagybakónak train station, you can take a local bus (if available) or a taxi to the Kőszikla Szurdok site. The bus may not run frequently, so it’s advisable to check the timetable in advance. The train fare is approximately 800 HUF.
Walking
If you are already in Nagybakónak and prefer to walk, you can reach Kőszikla Szurdok by heading northwest from the town center. Follow main roads and local signs toward the nature reserve. The walk is about 3 km and will take approximately 40 minutes. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes, as some parts may be uneven.
