Getting There

• Car

  Starting from Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, get onto Route 4 heading towards Budapest. Continue on Route 4 until you merge onto the M3 motorway towards Budapest. Follow the signs for Budapest and take the exit towards the city center. Once in Budapest, follow signs to Buda Castle. You can park at nearby parking facilities such as the Public Garage at Clark Ádám Square (fees apply). From there, it's a short walk to Szent György tér.

• Train

  Take a train from Nyíregyháza or other stations in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg to Budapest Keleti Railway Station. The journey takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on the train. Upon arrival, take the Metro Line 2 (Red Line) towards Déli Pályaudvar and get off at the Széll Kálmán tér station. From there, you can take bus 16 or 16A, which will take you directly to the Buda Castle area. Alternatively, you can walk from Széll Kálmán tér, which is about a 20-minute walk.

• Bus

  You can also take a long-distance bus from various locations in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg to Budapest. Buses typically arrive at Népliget Bus Station. From there, take Metro Line 3 (Blue Line) to Deák Ferenc tér, then transfer to Metro Line 2 (Red Line) towards Déli Pályaudvar. Get off at Széll Kálmán tér and take bus 16 or 16A to reach Buda Castle.

• Taxi/Rideshare

  For a more direct route, you can book a taxi or use a rideshare app from Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg to Buda Castle. This is the most convenient option but may be more expensive depending on the distance and traffic conditions.
