Car
From any location in Transdanubia, head towards Budapest. If you're coming from the western part of Transdanubia, take the M1 motorway towards Budapest. Once you approach Budapest, follow the signs for the M7 motorway. As you enter the city, continue on the M1 and take the exit towards Buda (Budaörsi út). Follow the local roads until you reach District XII. You will want to navigate towards János-hegy, which is located at 1121 Budapest. There is available parking near the base of the hill, but be mindful of local parking regulations.
Public Transportation
To reach János-hegy using public transport from anywhere in Transdanubia, first travel to Budapest via train or bus. Once in Budapest, take the Metro Line 2 (the red line) to Széll Kálmán tér. From there, transfer to tram line 61 or bus line 21, which will take you closer to the base of János-hegy. You will need to get off at the János-hegy stop. Note that the tram and bus may require a ticket, costing around 350 HUF (Hungarian Forint) for a single ride. Ensure you validate your ticket before boarding.
Walking
Once you arrive at the János-hegy stop, you will need to walk a short distance to reach the trailhead for János-hegy. Follow the signs that indicate the hiking trails. The trail is well-marked and will lead you to the summit, where you can enjoy stunning views of Budapest. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the hike can be moderately strenuous.
