Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Vác, head towards the Danube River, walking along the scenic promenade. Continue walking straight until you reach the Váci Bíróság (Court of Vác). Then, turn left onto Bartók Béla út and follow it until you reach the main road. Cross over the bridge that leads to Esztergom. Once you have crossed the bridge, continue straight to Szent István tér, where the Basilica will be prominently visible. The entire journey should take approximately 45 minutes on foot, and you’ll enjoy beautiful views along the way.

    From Vác, make your way to the Vác train station, which is located centrally. Purchase a ticket for a train to Esztergom. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes about 30 minutes.
