Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the center of Vác, start at the main square, Fő tér. From there, head south towards the Váci út, which is approximately 10 minutes on foot. Follow the signage that directs you to the local bus or train station. Once you reach the station, look for a bus or train heading towards Budapest. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes, depending on the service. Upon arrival in Budapest, you will be at the terminus. From there, walk 5 minutes to Váci utca, a famous shopping street. Just keep walking straight, and you will find the area bustling with shops and restaurants.

• Public Transport

  To reach Váci utca in Budapest from Vác, first head to the local train station located near the center of Vác. Purchase a ticket to Budapest. Trains run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes, and the ride takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Budapest, disembark at Nyugati pályaudvar or Deák Ferenc tér stations. From Nyugati, walk towards the Danube, and take a tram or bus heading towards Váci utca. If you arrive at Deák Ferenc tér, head south on Deák Ferenc utca until you reach Váci utca, which is about a 10-minute walk.

• Bicycle

  For a more adventurous option, consider renting a bicycle in Vác. Start from the center and head towards the Danube River, following the cycling paths along the riverbank. This scenic route will take you to Budapest along the bike paths. It’s a longer ride, approximately 20 kilometers, so expect to spend about 1-1.5 hours cycling, depending on your pace. Once you reach Budapest, continue along the river until you find Váci utca.
