Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards Tapolca in Western Transdanubia. From the center of Tapolca, take Fő utca towards the west. Follow the signs that direct you to the Jégbarlang, which is located at 8284 Tapolca. There is parking available near the entrance, but be sure to check for any fees, which usually range from 500 to 1000 HUF (about 1.5 to 3 USD).
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a train to Tapolca from major cities like Székesfehérvár or Veszprém. The train station in Tapolca is about 2 kilometers from Jégbarlang. Upon arriving at the Tapolca train station, you can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) or take a local bus that heads towards the city center, then transfer to a bus that goes to Jégbarlang. Bus tickets typically cost around 300 HUF (less than 1 USD) and can be purchased at the station.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from the center of Tapolca, head northwest on Fő utca, continue straight until you reach the intersection with Kossuth Lajos utca. Turn left and follow the signs for Jégbarlang, which is about a 25-minute walk from the center. Ensure that you wear comfortable shoes as the path may be uneven in places.
