From Akureyri's main bus terminal, take the local bus (Bus 1) towards the 'Hrafnagil' route. The bus operates frequently and will take you along the main road. Request the driver to let you know when you reach the stop nearest to Naustaborgir, which is called 'Naustaborgir'. This stop is located close to the hiking area. Once you get off the bus, follow the signs to the Naustaborgir hiking trails.

If you are in central Akureyri, you can walk to Naustaborgir. Start from the Akureyri Church (Akureyrarkirkja), located on Hafnarstræti. Head northeast on Hafnarstræti towards the main road (Kringlan). Continue straight onto the road leading out of town, following the signs for Naustaborgir. The hike to the area is approximately 3 km and will take around 30-40 minutes on foot. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
