Car
To get to Hornstrandir Nature Reserve by car, you will first need to drive to the town of Ísafjörður in the Westfjords region of Iceland. From there, you can take a ferry from Ísafjörður to the town of Hesteyri in Hornstrandir. The ferry ride takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once in Hesteyri, you can either hike or take a boat further into Hornstrandir Nature Reserve.
Public Transportation
If you are travelling by public transportation, you can take a bus from Reykjavik to Ísafjörður. The bus ride takes approximately 6-7 hours. From Ísafjörður, you can then take the ferry to Hesteyri in Hornstrandir. Once in Hesteyri, you can either hike or take a boat further into Hornstrandir Nature Reserve.
