Car
Start your journey from Borgarnes, the main town in Borgarfjörður. Head east on Route 1 (the Ring Road) and continue for approximately 50 kilometers. Take the exit onto Route 36 towards Þingvellir National Park. After about 15 kilometers on Route 36, follow the signs leading you into the park. Once inside, navigate to the area known as Öxarárhólmi, which is close to the helicopter landing pad indicated by the coordinates 7V5J+Q23. The journey should take around 1 hour and 15 minutes in total, depending on road conditions.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Borgarnes to Reykjavik. From Reykjavik, you can catch a bus towards Þingvellir National Park. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary by season. Once you arrive at Þingvellir, you will need to walk to Öxarárhólmi, which is approximately a 30-minute walk from the bus stop within the park. Follow the marked paths towards the Öxarárhólmi area, which is known for its scenic views.
