Car
From Borgarfjörður, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading southeast towards Reykjavík. After approximately 70 kilometers, follow the signs for Route 49 towards Reykjavík. Continue on Route 49 for about 5 kilometers, then take the exit for Hlíðar and follow the signs to Perlan. It will be on your left at Varmahlíð 1, 105 Reykjavík. Parking is available nearby, but may incur a small fee.
Public Transportation
From Borgarfjörður, you can take a bus to Reykjavík. Look for the Strætó bus service (look for line 57 or 58). The trip takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Reykjavík, disembark at the central bus terminal (BSÍ). From there, transfer to bus line 18 towards 'Hlíðar' and get off at the stop 'Perlan'. The total travel time is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours depending on connections. Make sure to check the Strætó website for current schedules and fares.
Taxi
If you prefer a direct route, consider taking a taxi from Borgarfjörður to Perlan. This option is more expensive, costing approximately ISK 15,000 to ISK 25,000 depending on traffic and the taxi service used. The journey will take about 1 to 1.5 hours.
