If you are driving in Borgarfjörður, start from Borgarnes town center. Get on the Route 1 ring road and head south towards Reykjavík. Continue for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 54. Turn left onto Route 54 and continue for about 10 kilometers. Look for a sign for Selatangar, which will direct you to a gravel road on your right. Drive along this road for about 2 kilometers until you reach the parking area near Selatangar. The historical site is a short walk from the parking area.

Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to Selatangar. However, you can take a bus from Borgarnes to Reykjavík, and then transfer to a bus that goes towards Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Inform the driver to drop you off near the Selatangar area, as it is not a regular stop. From there, you may need to walk approximately 2 kilometers along the gravel road to reach Selatangar. Ensure to check the bus schedules ahead of your trip, as they may vary based on the season.
