Walking
From the center of Borgarnes, start at the Borgarnes public swimming pool (Sundlaug Borgarbyggðar). Head north towards the main road, Route 1 (also known as the Ring Road). Once you reach Route 1, turn right (east) and walk along the road. Continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers. You will see signs for Staupasteinn along the way. When you reach the intersection of Route 1 and Route 47, continue straight for another 500 meters until you see Staupasteinn on your left. The walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes.

Bicycle
If you have a bicycle, you can start at the Borgarnes harbor area. Cycle east along the waterfront towards Route 1. Once you reach Route 1, take a left (north) and cycle for about 1.5 kilometers. You'll see signs for Staupasteinn. Continue straight at the intersection with Route 47, and after another 500 meters, you will arrive at Staupasteinn on your left. The bike ride will take about 15-20 minutes.
