To reach the Akureyri Art Museum from Dalvik, start by heading to the local bus stop in Dalvik, which is located at the main square near the harbor. Board the bus heading towards Akureyri; the bus service is frequent, so you should not have to wait long. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Akureyri, get off at the bus terminal. From there, exit the terminal and head southwest on Hafnarstræti towards the main street, Aðalstræti. Continue walking straight; Kaupvangsstræti will be on your left after about 10 minutes of walking. The museum will be located at Kaupvangsstræti 8-12.

If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a taxi from Dalvik to Akureyri. You can find taxis at various points in Dalvik, or you can call for one to pick you up. The taxi ride to Akureyri takes about 25 minutes, depending on traffic. Inform the driver to take you to Kaupvangsstræti 8-12, where the Akureyri Art Museum is located. This is a direct and convenient way to get to the museum without any transfers.
Walking
For the adventurous tourist, walking from Dalvik to Akureyri is an option, although it is quite a long journey of about 20 kilometers. Start by following the main road (Route 1) heading south out of Dalvik. The walk will take you along scenic coastal views and through beautiful Icelandic landscapes. As you approach Akureyri, look for signs directing you towards the town center. Once in Akureyri, head towards Aðalstræti, and then take a left onto Kaupvangsstræti, where you will find the museum at number 8-12.
