Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the center of Dalvik, near the Dalvik harbor. Head east on Aðalstræti street, following the signs for Ólafsfjörður. Continue walking for approximately 5 kilometers along the coastal path, which offers beautiful views of the fjord. After about an hour of walking, you'll reach a fork in the path. Take the right fork towards Ólafsfjörður, and follow the road until you see a sign for Fossdalsfoss. The waterfall is about 2 kilometers from the fork, and you will see a clear trail leading to it.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Dalvik. Begin at the Dalvik harbor and cycle east on Aðalstræti street. Follow the road towards Ólafsfjörður. The cycling distance is about 7 kilometers, and you should reach Fossdalsfoss in about 20-30 minutes, depending on your speed. Look for signs directing you to the waterfall as you approach Ólafsfjörður.

• Public Transport

  For those who wish to use public transport, check the local bus schedule for routes from Dalvik to Ólafsfjörður. Buses typically run several times a day. Once you arrive in Ólafsfjörður, get off at the stop nearest to the main road. From there, walk approximately 2 kilometers towards Fossdalsfoss, following the signs along the way. It should take you about 25-30 minutes on foot from the bus stop to the waterfall.
