If you're driving, start from the Þingvellir National Park area, which is a popular location in the Golden Circle. Head east on Route 36 towards Laugarvatn. After approximately 20 kilometers, take the exit onto Route 37 towards Flúðir. Continue on Route 37 for about 25 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 30. Turn right onto Route 30. After about 12 kilometers, you'll see a sign for Þjórsárdalur. Turn left onto Route 32 and follow it for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the parking area for Gjáin, which is located off Stangarvegur (804). The parking area may have a small fee, so be prepared with cash or a card.

To reach Gjáin using public transport, start by taking a bus from Reykjavík to Flúðir. The bus company 'Strætó' provides services on this route. Once you arrive in Flúðir, you will need to arrange a taxi to take you to Gjáin, as public transport does not go directly to this location.
