Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the Þingvellir National Park, which is a popular entry point to the Golden Circle. Head east on Route 36 until you reach the junction with Route 37. Turn right onto Route 37, then continue straight onto Route 35. After about 30 kilometers, you will see signs for Granni waterfall. Turn left onto the gravel road leading to the parking area near the waterfall. The coordinates for Granni are approximately 64.2098° N, -19.6830° W.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Granni via public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavik to Selfoss, which usually takes around 1 hour. From Selfoss, you will need to transfer to a local bus service that goes towards Geysir or Gullfoss. Be sure to ask the driver or check the local schedule for stops near Granni. Once you arrive at the nearest stop, you may have to walk approximately 1-2 kilometers to reach the waterfall. Check local bus websites for current schedules and fares, as prices may vary.

  For a more direct route without the hassle of public transport schedules, consider taking a taxi or using a ride-sharing service from Reykjavik. This option might be more expensive, typically costing around 25,000 ISK to 30,000 ISK for a round trip, depending on traffic. The driver will take you directly to Granni, making for a hassle-free experience.
