Walking
From the center of Grindavik, start at the Grindavik Tourist Information Center located at Suðurgata 25. Head south on Suðurgata until you reach the intersection with Aðalgata. Turn left onto Aðalgata and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Gardsvegur. Turn right onto Gardsvegur and follow this road as it bends slightly to the left. Continue straight until you reach the signpost for Grindavik volcano, which will direct you towards the hiking trails. The volcano is approximately a 30-40 minute walk from this point.
Biking
If you prefer to bike, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Grindavik. Start at the Grindavik Tourist Information Center, head south on Suðurgata, then turn left onto Aðalgata. Follow Aðalgata to Gardsvegur, turning right. Continue straight until you see the signpost for Grindavik volcano. The biking route is scenic and will take approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on your speed. Ensure to follow the marked paths for safety.
