Walking
Start at the center of Grindavik, near the main bus stop. Head southeast on Þjóðvegur road towards the town exit. Continue walking until you reach the main road (Route 43). Turn left and follow Route 43 for about 5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 41. At the intersection, catch a bus to Reykjavík. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Upon reaching Reykjavík, walk towards Tjörnin, which is located in the center of the city at 101 Reykjavík. You can ask locals for directions or use a map to navigate the last few blocks to the lake.
Bus
From Grindavik, walk to the nearest bus stop on Þjóðvegur road. Catch the bus heading to Reykjavík. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once in Reykjavík, disembark at the main bus terminal. From there, you can either walk towards Tjörnin, which is about a 15-minute walk, or take a local bus to the nearby stops. Tjörnin is located in the heart of the city, and you can easily find your way by following the signs or asking locals for directions.
