From Hengifoss Waterfall, head back to Road 1 (the Ring Road) and turn left towards Egilsstaðir. Continue on Road 1 for approximately 13 km. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Stóridalur. Take the exit onto J253 towards Stóridalur. Follow J253 for about 5 km until you reach the location marked as J253+RJ, 861 Stóridalur, which is the Big Puffin.

Public Transportation
From Hengifoss Waterfall, you would need to return to Egilsstaðir by taxi or by walking back to the main bus route, as there are no direct public transport options from the waterfall. Once in Egilsstaðir, take a local bus heading towards Stóridalur. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as services may be limited. Alight at the nearest stop to J253, and then walk approximately 1 km to reach Big Puffin at J253+RJ, 861 Stóridalur.

If you are feeling adventurous and are already near Hengifoss Waterfall, you can take a walking route. However, please note that this will be a long walk and may take several hours. Start by walking back towards the entrance of Hengifoss Waterfall. From there, navigate towards Road 1 and follow the directions provided for car travel. This will require walking along the road, so ensure you are wearing appropriate footwear and are cautious of traffic.
