Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of the Highlands area, head southeast on Route 1 (the Ring Road). Continue for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 32. Turn onto Route 32 and drive for about 20 kilometers. Look for the signs indicating 'Háifoss' and 'Granni'. After about 10 kilometers on Route 32, you will see a sign for Háifoss. Turn onto Háafossvegur and continue for another 5 kilometers to reach the parking area near the waterfall.

  • Public Transportation

    If you're traveling by public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavík to Hella, which operates regularly. From Hella, catch a local bus to Þjóðvegur (Route 1), and then transfer to a service heading towards Route 32. Once you reach the area near Ásahreppur, you will need to arrange a taxi or a rideshare service to take you the last few kilometers to Háifoss. Note that this may require advance booking for the taxi.

  • Hiking

    For the adventurous, consider hiking to Háifoss. You can start your hike from the nearby Granni waterfall, which is about a 1-hour hike (2 km) away.
