Car
If you are traveling by car, make your way to Route 1 (the Ring Road). From the Highlands, you can access Route 1 via the various mountain roads depending on your starting point. Once on Route 1, head east towards Skaftafell. After about 30 km from the town of Höfn, take the exit towards Skaftafell and follow the signs for about 15 km. You will arrive at the Skaftafell Visitor Center where you can park your vehicle. There is a parking fee of around 1,000 ISK per day.
