Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the center of Husavik at the main square. Head northwest on Aðalstræti street towards the intersection with Garðarsbraut. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Garðarsbraut road. Walk down Garðarsbraut for about 1 kilometer until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork towards the direction of Hljóðaklettar Nature Reserve. Follow the signs towards Hljóðaklettar. The Lava Church is located a short distance from the entrance of the reserve, near the coordinates WFQ8+466.

  • Bicycle Rental

    If you prefer to bike, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Husavik. Start by heading northwest on Aðalstræti street towards Garðarsbraut. Continue along Garðarsbraut, keeping an eye out for the fork in the road. Take the left fork toward Hljóðaklettar Nature Reserve. The ride is approximately 3 kilometers and will take about 15-20 minutes. Look for signs that lead you to The Lava Church near the entrance of the reserve.
